The Parish House: 311 East Church St, Martinsville, VA 24112

Known as "Scuffle Hill," this historic home was built by Colonel Pannill Rucker and was completed in 1928. It was built on the same foundation as his previous larger home that burned. Col. Rucker sold the home to the Rives S. Brown family. Later, it was the home of William Pannill and his family. In 1959, it was sold to the Christ Episcopal Church and converted into the church's "Parish House" used for Sunday school and other church functions. It is listed in the National Register of Historic Places and is a Virginia Historic Landmark.

In the recent years the Renaissance Mansion has been restored to the original splendor of yesteryear. Displaying a silver chandelier, wall sconces marked "Paul Revere-Philadelphia". Tiffany art glass and mural canvas grace the first floor formal Dining Room, complimented by five curved windows of lead glass made in England. Beamed ceilings, mahogany wood, french doors, numerous fireplaces and curios displaying precious items of years gone by.
